Rate Increase Proposed on Garbage Pickup

In an effort to offset city costs, the council has introduced a rate increase on garbage pickup. This would put the new rate at $17 from the current $12. Mayor Hammock stated that the city is currently losing over $100,000 a year on the outdated rates and that the new rate will mirror those already being paid in surrounding areas.
