CITY OF TALLASSEE, ALABAMA

FEBRUARY 11, 2020

 

 

 

 

The Mayor and the City Council of the City of Tallassee, Alabama convened in regular session on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Tallassee Municipal Complex. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hammock and the following were recorded as present:

John Smith was present as city attorney and City Clerk Whitney Moon acted as clerk for the meeting.

 

Mayor Hammock presented the minutes of the council work session held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. There were no additions or changes. Upon motion of Council Member Taunton and a second by Council Member Hill, the minutes were approved by a unanimous vote.

 

Mayor Hammock presented the minutes of the regular council meeting held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. There were no additions or changes. Upon motion of Council Member Brown and second by Council Member Carr, the minutes were approved by a unanimous vote.

 

Item 1: The March 10 City Council meeting will be ran by Mayor Pro Tem Godwin.

 

Item 2: The impact and tap fees on water and gas and meter cost on both were discussed. Getting together information for John Smith to update ordinances.

 

Item 3: Mayor Hammock gave an update on the Downtown project with a binder for the council members.

 

Item 4: Upcoming gas line project. Ready to put it out for bid.

 

Item 5: Mayor’s Reports: Basketball game tonight. Tallassee vs. Charles Henderson. Mayor Hammock discussed the finance options with Frazier Lanier. Council Members decided on Option #1, no payment this year and take the money from that and hire new employees for a specific project.

 

Item 6: Council Reports: Council Members Taunton, Hill, Brown, Wilson, Godwin, and Stough had nothing to report. Council Member Carr wanted to thank Pastor Jones for coming to Ward 3 and praying.

 

Item 7: There being no further business before the Council, upon a motion made by Council Member Hill and a second by Council Member Carr, all Council Members present voted to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
