MINUTES OF A WORK SESSION
OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TALLASSEE, ALABAMA
January 12, 2026
The City Council of the City of Tallassee, Alabama convened in a work session on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tallassee Municipal Complex. The meeting was called to order and the following were recorded as present:
Mayor Joey Wiginton
Council Members Easterling Carpenter
Linda McNeal Mosher
Damian Carr
Bill Hall
Terrel Brown
Sarah Jones
Fred Randall Hughey
John Smith was present as city attorney and Whitney Pitchford as secretary for the work session.
The agenda for the December 8, 2025 council meeting was reviewed. Certain items were discussed in detail.
Chief Buce discussed the need for new radios for the police department. The money is available to purchase the radios from Echo911 for $20,541.80 in the police departments special seizure account.
Wendy Clayton discussed cemetery plots and currently only 1 cremation urn can go in lot, they want to increase that to 3 urns per lot. Wendy mentioned increasing the cost of plots to both cemeteries. John Smith will update this and Council will review at the January 26th meeting.
Chris Neuenschwander discussed the job duties/ part time accountant position.
On motion of Councilmember Hughey and second of Councilmember Mosher, and a vote in favor by all other councilmembers, the meeting was adjourned at 5:54 p.m.
