MINUTES OF A WORK SESSION
OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TALLASSEE, ALABAMA
JANUARY 23, 2024
The City Council of the City of Tallassee, Alabama convened in a work session on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tallassee Municipal Complex. The meeting was called to order and the following were recorded as present:
Mayor Sarah Hill
Council Members Jeremy Taunton
Linda McNeal Mosher
Damian Carr
Bill Hall
Terrel Brown
Bill Godwin
Fred Randall Hughey
John Smith was present as city attorney and Whitney Pitchford as secretary for the work session.
Certain items on the agenda were discussed in detail.
Mayor Hill announced that she had talked with the state and bridge workers and they had about 3-4 more weeks of work to complete. Hoping for good weather!
Mayor Hill mentioned a potential grant opportunity from CARPDC that would require the Mayor and one other city official to go to nine meetings and present a plan for a $50,000 grant. Council please think about this and let Mayor Hill know.
Mayor Hill met with the Recreation Director and there are issues with a work truck but they have it worked out-borrowing one of utility trucks for now. There are several lights that have burned out/need new fuses at the Rec Parks due to lightening. Eric Phillips is working on prices.
On motion of Councilmember Hall and second of Councilmember Taunton, and a vote in favor by all other councilmembers, the meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
