MINUTES OF A WORK SESSION
OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TALLASSEE, ALABAMA
JANUARY 26, 2021
The City Council of the City of Tallassee, Alabama convened in a work session on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at the Tallassee Municipal Complex. The meeting was called to order and the following were recorded as present:

John Smith was present as city attorney and secretary for the work session.
The City Council of the City of Tallassee met in the city council chambers in a work session beginning at 5 p.m. on January 26, 2021. The meeting was called to order at 5 p.m. by Mayor Hammock with all council present.
First, the discussion of the January 12, 2021 city council meeting and work section. Certain corrections were discussed.
Next, the agenda for the January 26, 2021 city council meeting was discussed. Certain items were discussed in detail. There were discussions about the city surplusing a van and donating it to the House of Love and Mercy, a women’s shelter. Alabama Municipal Insurance Company’s proposal to create a fund to help municipal governments with storm cleanup costs, along with the City of Tallassee’s participation in such a fund, was discussed. There was discussion about moving the Animal Control Officer’s duties to the police department. Tallassee Volunteer Fire Department Chief Eric Jones detailed his request for the city to approve an AFG grant.
On motion of Councilmember Taunton and second of Councilmember Hill, and a vote in favor by all other councilmembers, the meeting was adjourned at 5:48 p.m.
