MINUTES OF A WORK SESSION
OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TALLASSEE, ALABAMA
FEBRUARY 23, 2021
The City Council of the City of Tallassee, Alabama convened in a work session on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at the Tallassee Municipal Complex. The meeting was called to order and the following were recorded as present:

Council Members Jeremy Taunton
Sarah Hill
Damian Carr
Bill Hall
Terrel Brown-absent
Bill Godwin
Fred Randall Hughey
John Smith was present as city attorney and secretary for the work session.
The City Council of the City of Tallassee met in the city council chambers in a work session beginning at 5 p.m. on February 23, 2021. The meeting was called to order at 5 p.m. by Mayor Hammock with all council present.
First, the discussion of the January 26, 2021 city council meeting and work section. There were no corrections.
Next, the agenda for the February 23, 2021 city council meeting was discussed. Certain items were discussed in detail. There was a lengthy discussion about correspondence certain business in Tallassee had received concerning ADA-accessible bathrooms. There was a lengthy discussion about acquiring certain property adjoining Carrville Cemetery. There was a lengthy discussion about economic development projects to include a furniture store and hotel. The council discussed the possibility of tax abatement for these businesses.
On motion of Councilmember Taunton and second of Councilmember Hill, and a vote in favor by all other councilmembers, the meeting was adjourned at 5:51 p.m.
