MINUTES OF A WORK SESSION

OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF TALLASSEE, ALABAMA

APRIL 27, 2021

 

The City Council of the City of Tallassee, Alabama convened in a work session on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at the Tallassee Municipal Complex. The meeting was called to order and the following were recorded as present:

Council Members         Jeremy Taunton

Sarah Hill

Damian Carr

Bill Hall

Terrel Brown

Bill Godwin

 

 

John Smith was present as city attorney and secretary for the work session.

 

The City Council of the City of Tallassee met in the city council chambers in a work session beginning at 5 p.m. on April 27, 2021. The meeting was called to order at 5 p.m. by Mayor Hammock with all councilmembers present, except Councilmember Hughey.

 

First, the discussion of the April 13, 2021 city council meeting and work section. Due to the City Clerk being out sick, those minutes would be approved at the next council meeting on May 11, 2021.

 

Next, the agenda for the April 27, 2021

 

  1. Jeff Harrison of CDG Engineers reported on the progress of the replacement of and improvement work to the Laney Lift Station. He discussed that the pipe that transmits waste from the lift station to the sewer lagoon should be replaced. Bids had been solicited for this project and 3 bids were received. Mr. Harrison reported that the low bid of $153,600.00 was received from Faulk Constructors, who are preforming the work on the lift station. Mr. Harrison recommended that the council accept this bid.
  2. Next, Mayor Hammock and the councilmembers present reviewed the items on the agenda for April 27, 2021 council meeting.
  3. On motion of Councilmember Hill and a second by Councilmember Taunton, the meeting was adjourned at 5:48p.m.
