MINUTES OF A WORK SESSION
OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TALLASSEE, ALABAMA
AUGUST 9, 2022
The City Council of the City of Tallassee, Alabama convened in a work session on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at the Tallassee Municipal Complex. The meeting was called to order and the following were recorded as present:

Fred Randall Hughey
John Smith was present as city attorney and Whitney Pitchford as secretary for the work session.
Leslie York with CARPDC opened the Public Hearing. The demolition grant is a $250,000 grant with a $25,000 match. We have torn down 7 houses and still have $182,000 left. This is a proposed amendment to include the Hotel Talisi. Any money left over will return to the residential housing. Houston Baker wanted to recommend not tearing down the Hotel, he wants to redevelop it. There was no one else that wanted to speak. The Public Hearing was closed.
On motion of Councilmember Godwin and second of Councilmember Carr, and a vote in favor by all other councilmembers, the meeting was adjourned at 5:17 p.m.
