The City of Tallassee is accepting applications for a full-time position as Meter Reader/Utility Personnel
Applicants must be able to work outside in all season, time and weather.
On-call/Overtime and holidays if needed
Duties include but not limited to:
*Knowledge of computer skills, be able to use RF system with laptop for mobile reading of meters as well as hand held system for manual readings of meters and data logging.
*Complete work and work orders in a timely, accurate manner.
*Unlock and activate water/gas services; Shutoff/lockout water/gas services.
*Physical requirements are to include but not limited to excessive walking, crouching, digging, repairing water and gas leaks as well as checking for leaks.
*Common plumbing/pipe knowledge preferred.
*Install & replace electronic transmitters as wells as the gas or water meters in ground or above.
*Some work with sewers & piping of sewers.
*Be able & reliable to help on any issues of infrastructure including gas, water and sewer.
*Serve the public in a professional & courteous manner.
Applicants must be self-motivated, organized and good communication skills.
