The City of Tallassee will be accepting sealed bids for the repairs at the Tallassee Community Library. Sealed bids will be accepted at City Hall until Tuesday, March 10, 2020 @ 3:00pm. Bids will be opened at 5:00pm, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 during the Work Session.
Scope of work for the Tallassee Community Library is as follows:
- Prep exterior of Library including but limited to brick, concreate porch and stoops, columns, steps, wheel chair ramp, rails, windows, doors, by means of pressure washer, sandblaster, and/or manual sander/scraper.
- Remove any loose or unnecessary caulking.
- Reglaze windows where needed.
- Remove all debris from rear exit door and basement window area.
- Install Smooth Fiberglass 3/0 x 6/8 right hand outswing door unit with appropriate PVC jamb PVC brick mold and stainless steel hinges.
- Remove all pre-existing shutters.
- Install 15 pair of 1×6 Rough Sawn Cedar Board and Batten shutters at least 23”x9’.
- Seal shutters with a high quality semi-transparent finish equivalent to Benjamin Moore Arborcoat stain/sealer.
- Remove shingles, existing flashing and any other rotten decking around chimney on right side of Library.
- Install new decking, ice/water shield membrane, flashing and shingles around/against chimney.
- If it is found that water is penetrating brick chimney, prep and seal brick chimney.
- Remove all Crown sub-fascia.
- Remove all rotten fascia and soffit and replace with new 1x lumber.
- Install and wrap sub-fascia with G2 PVC trim coil, suing trim nails and color match caulk.
- Remove and replace any rotten wood on windows and below window panels.
- Install 6” gutter around perimeter of building to include upper section roof with appropriate downspouts and Leaf guard.
- Construct and install access door to crawlspace on right side of building using ½” Versatex PVC material or equivalent with exterior hinges and hasp.
- Cover existing basement windows with ½” Versatex PVC material or equivalent also using galvanized flashing and NPI or equivalent caulk to seal.
- Install both vented and non-vented vinyl soffit.
- Using a high quality exterior paint and primer equivalent to Benjamin Moore Gloss finish, paint windows, panels below windows, doors, columns, porch, stoops, and rails.
- Inside Library, 1st room on right, cut out and remove upper section where mold is present, and approximately 6’ on all sides.
- Treat studs with mold mixture.
- Install ceiling insulation if needed.
- Install moisture rock sheetrock to areas previous cut out, mud, and finish.
- Install new radius and trim like new status.
- Remove and clean (2) AC vents.
- Paint sheetrock and trim with high quality interior paint equivalent to Benjamin Moore paint and primer.
- Install dehumidifier to AC unit for mold prevention.
